Why reply at all

A reply is the cheapest way to raise a rating

Reviewers who hear back often come back – updating their star rating, softening a complaint, or simply feeling heard. The problem was never whether to reply; it was finding the hours. AI Replies removes the hours.

Replies move the needle

Responding to reviews is one of the most reliable ways to lift a rating over time – reviewers frequently revisit and raise their score after a thoughtful reply.

Written from the review

Every draft is built from that review's rating, sentiment and topics – not a generic template. It answers what the reviewer actually said.

200+ languages

Replies match your brand tone and answer in the reviewer's own language, so a review in German gets a reply in German.

Three ways to reply

From a helping hand to fully hands-off

The same AI drafts every reply. What changes is how much you want to stay in the loop – pick per app, or mix by rule.

Level 1 · On demand

AI drafting

In your review inbox, generate a reply for any review in one click. It arrives written in your voice, ready to edit. Tweak a word or the whole thing, then post – no blank page, no lost momentum.

Best for: teams who want a fast head start but keep the final word on every reply.

Level 2 · Drafted for you

Auto Reply drafts

Appbot Auto reply AI drafts replies automatically as reviews arrive and queues them for approval. Skim the queue, edit anything that needs it, and approve in a batch. Nothing posts until you say so.

Best for: high review volume where you still want a human eye before anything goes live.

Level 3 · Hands-off

Auto Replies

Set rules – by rating, sentiment, topic, keyword, country or language – and Appbot drafts and publishes replies automatically for the cases you trust it with. The rest still routes to a draft for review.

Best for: predictable, high-volume cases like thanking every 5-star review.

Rules decide what gets what

Not every review deserves the same treatment. Route by star rating, sentiment, topic, keyword, country or language – auto-publish the easy wins, send anything sensitive to a draft, and leave the rest for a one-click reply.

A 5-star “love this app” can post a thank-you on its own; a 1-star bug report lands in your queue with a draft that already acknowledges the specific problem.

★ 1–2 · bugDraft + notify team

Always unmistakably you

Give Appbot your brand guidelines – tone, do's and don'ts, sign-off – and every draft matches, whether a person writes it or the AI does. Answers come back in the reviewer's language automatically, so support quality doesn't drop off outside English.

Prefer templates for some cases? Canned replies still live alongside AI drafts, so you can mix a fixed response with an AI-written one.

In practice

What good replies actually do

One tool, the full range of situations.

The happy user

“Thank a 5-star review – and nudge the next feature.”

Auto Reply posts a warm thank-you instantly, so praise never goes unanswered.

The bug report

“Acknowledge the exact problem and show it's heard.”

A draft lands in your queue already referencing the specific issue, ready for a human to confirm.

The feature request

“Tell them it's noted – without over-promising.”

Drafts strike the tone you set: appreciative, honest about the roadmap, never committing to dates.

The angry one-star

“De-escalate, apologise, point to a fix.”

Sensitive reviews route to a draft, so a person always approves the wording before it posts.

The non-English review

“Reply in the reviewer's own language.”

Appbot drafts in the language of the review, so a Japanese reviewer gets a Japanese reply.

The backlog

“Clear hundreds of unanswered reviews.”

Auto-draft the queue, skim, and approve in a batch instead of writing each from scratch.

Comparison

Templates got you a reply. This gets you the right one.

Canned responses are fast but generic; writing each by hand is personal but slow. AI Replies gives you both – personal and fast – with you still holding the controls.

Control

Nothing posts that you didn't allow

Automation is opt-in, rule by rule. Every level of AI Replies keeps a human in the loop by default – you decide exactly where that changes, and you can change it back at any time.

You set the automation

Auto Replies only publish where your rules say so. Everything else waits as a draft for approval – the default is a human in the loop.

Edit anything, anytime

Every draft is fully editable before it posts, and you can turn any level of automation off per app whenever you want.

Your data stays yours

Appbot doesn't use your review data to train third-party AI models. See our Data Privacy & Security policy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about AI Replies

What's the difference between AI drafting, Auto Reply drafts, and Auto Replies?

They're three levels of the same tool. AI drafting generates a reply on demand when you click, for you to edit and post. Auto Reply drafts generate replies automatically as reviews arrive and queue them for your approval. Auto Replies go one step further and publish automatically for the cases your rules cover – while anything outside those rules still lands as a draft.

Will AI Replies post anything without my approval?

Only where you've set an Auto Reply rule. By default, drafts wait for a human to approve them. You choose exactly which situations – by rating, sentiment, topic, keyword, country or language – are safe to automate, and you can change or switch that off at any time.

Can I control the tone and wording of AI Replies?

Yes. Give Appbot your brand voice and guidelines and every draft matches them, and you can edit any draft before it posts. You can also keep canned or templated replies alongside AI drafts for cases you'd rather fix.

Which app stores does AI Replies support?

Replies publish to the Apple App Store and Google Play, the two stores that let developers respond to reviews.

What languages can AI Replies reply in?

Appbot drafts in the reviewer's own language, so reviews left in other languages get replies in kind rather than an English response or a manual translation.

Does replying to app reviews really improve ratings?

Responding to reviews is widely found to help ratings over time – reviewers who get a thoughtful reply often return to update or raise their score. AI Replies makes it feasible to reply at a scale where that effect actually shows up. More on replying to app reviews.

Which plans include AI Replies?

AI Replies and Auto Replies are available on our Large and Premium plans, alongside Ask Appbot and Appbot MCP. See the Pricing page for current limits.
