I Shouldn't Have Updated.

It looks like all the new updates with games and Kik's new look is really starting to annoy people, The new look itself now looks just like the Text Messenger app that comes with an iPhone. It's very disappointing for anyone (like me) who has come to love the comforting design of the black screen and shiny bubbles from a much older version of Kik. Another issue is all of the new material that constantly overheats and slows down my phone. For example, the how the camera crashes most of the time when someone will try to take a picture, or if you "message too fast," it'll just make your phone restart. And now, I'm honestly starting to look at what others are saying about the app, and I agree completely. I like the iPhone's ability to update apps without having to tap every single one, but I'm starting to wish I hadn't updated since about June 2014. While I have to say that the feature of muting people is nice, they really should try to make a feature that will save the user's unfinished messages, should the app crash, like it is now known to do often. Another step to recreating what used to be an amazing app strictly for messaging (and sharing media) would be to make the game notifications and new look OPTIONAL in settings. That's what YouTube did, and everyone that wasn't ready to change to a new look could flip back whenever they wanted for a while. It's been a few years or so since then, so YouTube no longer does this, but maybe Kik should turn towards that example a bit more, instead of basically becoming an arcade with a messenger attached, because we all came to love Kik MESSENGER, not Kik Casino.
